The Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet is the cabriolet version of the Volkswagen Golf hatchback. Initially based on the Mk1, and the later Mk3 Golf, it was produced by Volkswagen Passenger Cars.
A Golf Cabriolet was not produced from the Mk2 Golf.
In late 1999, a revised Golf Cabriolet was released, with a front and rear facelift, and instrument cluster based on the Golf Mk4.
The Volkswagen Golf Mk1 Cabriolet was introduced in 1979, and was succeeded by the Golf Mk3 Cabriolet in 1993. There was no Golf Cabriolet based on the Mk2 Golf.
